  • Aspen High School senior shares her message to help others

    The Aspen School District and Aspen Family Matters are presenting “As You Are” a body positive event Wednesday, May 16, 5:30-7:30 in the Aspen High School Commons. This special interactive presentation will include displays, a panel discussion, and a viewing of the trailer for the documentary Embrace.

  • Technology Integrator Anita Moose will give keynote address in Peru

    It is commonly said that that the world comes to Aspen. But how about Aspen going out into the world? Anita Moose, a technology integrator at Aspen Middle and Elementary Schools has been tapped to be a keynote speaker and session leader at the AppsEvents Summit in Peru. This three-day long event takes place June 1-3 at the Colegio Roosevelt –The American School of Lima and is the first AppsEvent to take place in South America.

  • Celebrating teachers this week and all year

    It’s the hard work of all the faculty and staff in the Aspen School District that make it one of the best districts in the state and country. But it’s the dedication of the teachers that make our schools special. Our teachers work hard and go above and beyond to ensure their students get the best educational experience possible. As we celebrate National Teacher Appreciation Week the District would like to highlight and celebrate one teacher from each of the Aspen schools as stand out examples of what it means to be Aspen spectacular!

  • AES students’ outrage turned into action

    Kids are impressionable, no doubt about it. But then again, that’s how change for the better can occur. When Aspen Elementary School 2nd graders Maya Kahn-Farooqi and Reagan Ferrell saw a video of a sea turtle with a plastic straw caught up his nose, they were determined to do something. Their outrage turned into a plan to enlist their school to help spread the word.

  • Driving takes a back seat for this Aspen High School student

    The day that Evan Pearce turned 16, unlike other teenagers, he didn’t run to get his drivers license, but made his first solo flight to get his pilot’s license. Since 5th grade, Pearce has part of the AERO program at the Aspen School District, first mastering the art of flying on a desktop simulator. He also volunteered with the AERO Build program building remote control airplanes, which has been a hobby of his for many years.

  • Aspen Elementary School hosts 2nd Annual Kick-Off to Kindergarten May 17

    The transition from Pre-K to Kindergarten is a huge step, maybe more so for the parents than the student. For the second year the Aspen Elementary School is hosting a Kick-Off to Kindergarten, Thursday, May 17 5:30-7 p.m to help parents and students become more familiar with AES before the beginning of next school year. The evening will offer tours of the facilities, meetings with the teachers and staff, a question and answer session with a packet of information, and an opportunity to meet other incoming parents and students.
