  • Aspen School District a hub for Career and Technical Education? You bet!

    February is a month where the country celebrates courses and programs that teach middle and secondary school students skills that can translate into careers. It’s Career and Technical Education (CTE) Month and if you think that the Aspen School District doesn’t have courses like that you’d be very much off the mark.

  • District and School Safety and Security Measures Reviewed

    The ability to respond to any natural or man-made emergencies or disasters is an essential component of any Emergency Operations Plan. The process begins with comprehensive planning and collaboration between district employees and emergency responders and implementation of an Emergency Operations Plan. You may recall the actions all emergencies fall under and staff and students practice routinely are: Lockout, Lockdown, Evacuation, or Shelter.

  • Real Time Stories: a new video series

    There are so many innovative, challenging, and down-right fun things going on every day at the Aspen School that it’s hard to keep up. Many events are written about but sometimes in order to do them justice, we need to listen and watch them unfold. ASD Superintendent John Maloy has created Real Times Stories at Aspen School District, a video series where he interviews students and staff to get to the heart of special happenings all around campus.

  • Three Aspen art students win Scholastic Awards

    Since 1923, the Scholastic Art & Writing Awards have recognized the vision, ingenuity, and talent of our nation’s youth, and provided opportunities for creative teens to be celebrated. Each year, increasing numbers of teens participate in the program, and become a part of our community—young artists and writers, filmmakers and photographers, poets and sculptors, video game artists and science fiction writers, along with countless educators who support and encourage the creative process.
