Hello! I have been a teacher at Aspen Middle School since 2008. Prior to laying down my roots in the Roaring Fork Valley, I have slung fish in a cannery in Alaska, served as a Peace Corps Volunteer in the former Soviet republic of Georgia, worked in a fly-fishing shop in Missoula, Montana and traveled with students to Japan, New Zealand, Fiji, Puerto Rico and to Washington D.C. for President Obama’s inauguration.
I love getting students excited about social studies and try to get them involved in debating, simulating, and critically analyzing events from the past with the perspective of today. What happens today is history tomorrow. Understanding the important events taking place in our nation is a critical part of understanding our international, national and local government; therefore we will be required to keep pace with current events as a part of this course and will be discussing them regularly.
The best way to contact me is via email and students can keep up with assignments on my google classrooms page.
