Technology Integration Specialist
I moved to Aspen in 2014 and have been a Technology Integration Specialist since 2010. For 4 years I lived in Europe, in Rome, Italy and in Zurich, Switzerland and before that Jackson, Wyoming. I've taught all subjects in middle and elementary schools for the past 17 years and am passionate about teaching and integrating technology when it enhances student learning.
My experience and training in education is varied, with much of my work supporting students with primary languages other than English, with additional training in writer's workshop, math, science, and technology. I have a master's degree in Curriculum and Instruction from the University of Wyoming, an ESL endorsement, and have been a technology integration specialist for the past two years.
I am device/platform agnostic, working with Apple, Microsoft, Google devices and various programs and platforms. To me, it is never about the the device, app, or software, but about taking students further than they could otherwise could go base on traditional teaching methods. My focus is on creativity and collaboration in the teaching/learning process, not on the technology.
