Degrees and Certifications:
BA Environmental Science - University of Colorado MA Secondary Science Education - University of Colorado
I grew up in Aspen and graduated from Aspen High School in 2007. I then attended University of Colorado at Boulder and earned a degree in Environmental Studies with a minor in Atmospheric and Oceanic Science. Not quite ready for the "real world" I moved to Jackson Hole and worked for Teton Raptor Center and birds of prey rehabiliation center. I worked with birds of prey but also local schools and public visitors, educating them about raptor biology, conservation ecology and rehabiliation. I quickly realized I loved working with kids and decided to pursue my teaching license and masters in education. I love the connections I can make with students and what they see during their time spent outdoors. When I'm not teaching, I am usually spending time with my dog and husband skiing, hiking, rafting or gardening (and always looking for birds).
