Amy Gray

I have been teaching fifth grade since 2005. I love welcoming and supporting our fifth graders as they transition from elementary to middle school. One of my goals as a literacy teacher is to assist students in discovering books they love and instill the joy of reading for pleasure.

I am a native of Portland, Oregon, where I grew up skiing, playing soccer, and enjoying the great outdoors. After a decade of working as an international biking and hiking tour leader, I arrived in Aspen and began teaching. I am passionate about the outdoor education program at the Middle School, which is an incredible experience for the students here.

I have a Masters of Education in Teaching Elementary Reading and Math and many hours of training in LETRS (Language Essentials for Teachers of Reading and Spelling) and Multisensory Reading Instruction. My husband works for the Aspen Skiing Company, and my daughter attends Aspen Elementary School. We are very invested in this incredible valley we are fortunate to call home.
