Miss Kate Korn
Kate is a dedicated teacher and lover of the outdoors. It was her passion for the outdoors that initally attracted her to the Roaring Fork Valley. After spending summers enjoying mountain life and working at the Roaring Fork Club, she realized she wanted to call the Valley her permanent home. When she's not teaching, Kate enjoys playing golf, hiking, biking, sking, and spending time with friends and family.
For Kate, outside of seeing the growth her students make over the course of a year, the best part of teaching is the laughter is a part of every day with her students.
Kate grew up in Mooresville, Indiana. Her undergraduate degree is from Saint Joseph's College and she earned a Master's in Applied Behavior Analysis with a focus in Autism from Ball State University in 2014. Most recently, Kate has become a certified Health Coach through training with the Cooper Institute.
Aspen Valley Land Trust aspires to save our Experiential Education for 8th Grade outdoor Education in Marble. The land is being sold and if our community can raise $200,000.00 by December 15th, then we can save the property for valley use. If we do not raise the funds we will lose the property and our 8th Grade program will no longer be. Please read the articles by Roger Marolt and Beth Wille, who are local Aspen Alumni of ASD. Roger and Beth attended Aspen Schools and went on 8th grade outdoor ed over 30 years ago. A good reason to understand the importance of saving the land. Donations can be made to www.AVLT.org Even $10 is something to donate.
Here is Roger's article. Please read!

*Each class that has 100% participation (regardless of how much is spent) will earn a pizza party!
I will be out of the building this Friday and the following Monday and Tuesday. I really don't like to be gone but I'm attending the Wilderness First Responder Course at the High School. I'm really excited about the opportunity.
