Born and raised an Alaskan girl by teachers in a small fishing community, the stage for adventure was set at an early age, from which I've learned the values of differentiated and individualized education through perspective and relevance.
As a third-generation educator since 1999, I have been blessed with varied related experiences to include elementary PE, self-contained 3rd and 5th grades, as well as 5th grade teaming, gifted programming, and middle school library management. I have also coached athletics at the middle school and high school varsity levels. My draw to the Aspen Middle School was strong with the unique forces of our outstanding Outdoor Education programs, the amazing staff, and a small all-encompassing campus where I can be close to my husband, Jared (AES PE Teacher) and our own two kids, 9th-grader Bridger and 8th-grader Araya.
I am blessed to be part of the stellar 7th-grade team as a Language Arts teacher. Seventh grade was a memorable year for me as a writer, with an instructor who allowed for my creativity and voice to emerge. I aim to do the same for my students.
