    Leadership Profile Assessment Results Presentation
    (January 6, 2020 @ 6:30 PM in the board room)

    On January 6th at 6:30pm the Aspen School District Board of Education will be receiving the findings of the Leadership Profile Assessment conducted by Hazard, Young, Attea & Associates (HYA) and is inviting YOU to attend. From December 2nd through December 20th HYA consultants conducted numerous one on one interviews and focus groups, an on-site community forum, a virual community forum, and an online survey. These were developed and structured to gather important information to assist board members in identifying and clarifying specific district strengths, significant challenges, and future district priorities as well as desired professional and personal characteristics and qualifications for the next superintendent.

    The Board is inviting you and all interested stakeholders to the board meeting to hear the results of the community engagement endeavors and to comment upon them. Your participation will matter and will be incorporated into the Leadership Profile the Board uses to recruit superintendent candidates and select our district's new leader. We look forward to seeing you January 6th and hearing your thoughts. The materials will also be posted online for review and comment following the meeting.

    The Aspen Board of Education launched the superintendent search process with more than two days of community engagement activities. The Board has contracted with Hazard, Young, Attea, and Associates to facilitate and support this important endeavor, and following the seating of new board members they got right to work. HYA’s President, Max McGee, and Associate, Dallas Strawn, conducted individual interviews and small group meetings with an array of stakeholders including students, parents, teachers, school and district administrators, DAC and SAC members. They also hosted a community forum last Tuesday, December 3rd, and will be hosting a VIRTUAL ONLINE FORUM from 7:00 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. on WEDNESDAY, December 18th.     In addition, the Board has authorized an ONLINE SURVEY. We want to learn your thoughts about the current state or our district as well as what you think are the most important qualifications and characteristics for our next leader. Your feedback matters to us and we will use what you have to say to create a Leadership Profile and the framework of a job description for the new superintendent. In fact, you can click
    on the link below to complete a 7-10 minute survey, which includes an open ended response item to share whatever you want us to know. Your answers are kept completely confidential. Our team from Hazard, Young, & Attea (HYA) will compile and analyze the feedback and provide the Board with a detailed report based on the findings.

    As always, thank you for your continued support and please take the survey as soon as possible. It will close on December 20th, and we want to be sure that YOU are heard. Results of the survey, and the Leadership Profile Report will be presented at the Board of Education meeting on January 6th.
