Meet the Infant Room Teachers
Degrees and Certifications:
Mrs. Katherine McCourt, Pip Pryor, & Kristin Kail
Katherine McCourt: I moved to Aspen to work with the Cottage last August, making this is my second year teaching PreSchool! Before Aspen, I lived in Boston for two years while in grad school at Lesley University, where I received my Masters in Early Childhood Education with certifications in Sheltered English Immersion and Integration in the Classroom. I spent many years before that sailing around the Bristish Virgin Islands, so moving to the mountains has been an exciting new adventure for me. Ive picked up waterfall climbing and cross country skiing, and I am continuing to adjust to the cold and snow!
Pip Pryor: I already know many of you but for those that don’t, this is the second year that I have taught at The Cottage. I am originally from England but chose to stay here after visiting the mountains and realised it would be a lovely place to live. I have also been a special education paraprofessional for many years in elementary school in Aspen and Basalt. I have a BA in Sociology and I am currently gaining my MA from the University of Northern Colorado in Special Education with an early childhood emphasis. In my spare time, I love to travel and spend time with my husband and two children and my black lab Guinness! I feel so lucky to teach pre-school in Aspen and spend time with your beautiful children. Pip
Kristin Kail: I have a bachelor's degree in social work. After 15 years in this profession, I decided to apply for a school-based job so that I could align my schedule with that of our children. I have worked as a paraprofessional at the elementary, middle school, and now preschool levels. After three years in the Aspen Middle School, I felt that the preschool was a better fit for me. I am most excited to assist in both academic and emotional development of these young minds. In my free time, I am an avid reader and runner. I also enjoy a good hike with our dog, Ajax.
