Lindsey Waters - Preschool Teacher 

Lindsey Waters grew up in Northern California in the Bay Area and is happy to have called Aspen, CO her home for the last 4 years. Lindsey graduated from the University of Vermont with a BA in Arts & Sciences (she majored in English, Psychology and Religion) while working as a full-time English Wiritng Tutor for undergraduate and graduate students. Lindsey has worked as a childcare provider for 10+ years while working as both a babysitter and tutor for children in the Roaring Fork Valley.  She began working at the Aspen School District as a Special Education Paraprofessional, and she is thrilled to enter her second year co-teaching with Malia as a preschool teacher for The Cottage. In her free time, Lindsey loves to mountain bike in the summer, ski in the winter, and adventure with her huskey doggie all times of the year.  


Malia Kelly- Preschool Teacher 

This will be Malia's 8th year living in the Roaring Fork Valley and 6th year working at The Cottage. She loves working with preschool age children because of their curiosity and natural love for learning and exploring. Malia is also the Colorado Preschool Program Coordinator for Pitkin County. She has a passion for ensuring that every child has the opportunity to attend quality early childhood program. Malia is a mother of two children; Briana, who is in third grade, and Paulie, who will be in kindergarten. In her spare time, Malia enjoys spending time with her children and friends, hiking, trail running, skiing, taking adventures, cooking and reading. She also has a secrect love for pizza and sweet treats! 


Daisy Contreras - SPED Paraprofessional

Daisy is 20 years old. She was born and raised in the valley, and she loves it here. Daisy is bilingual and enjoys using that skill wherever it's needed. This is her first year at The Cottage, whereas before she worked at Mt. Sopris Montessori in Carbondale for 6 years. Working with children has always been her number one passion. In her free time, Daisy enjoys spending time with family and free writing. She hopes to learn from each and every one of our students and is looking forward to a great year! 


Melissa Bustillos - Support Preschool Teacher

Melissa was born and raised in Mexico. Her first language is Spanish and she is perfecting her English. Melissa moved to the valley in 2016 and this is her second year at The Cottage. Melissa loves working with kids. Prior to moving here, Melissa had worked at a Children's Hospital. Melissa has a degree in psychology. She loves to travel and any outdoor activity. Melissa is very excited to be part of the preschool and is looking forward to an awesome year!
